This site offers a great tool for creating data visualizations. You could use this site to create thematic charts and maps using multiple years of rosters, following our thematic map exercise "Players by Home State." Gapminder.org

ESRI
ESRI offers free web map tools from their web site. This program allows you to use geographic information systems (GIS) to create maps and communicate specific information. From the web site, look for their "mapping for everyone" software. ESRI.com
National Geographic
National Geographic offers great map resources from their web site. Free outline maps can be found under the Educator Resources tab on their Education page. There are so many resources here that you might need to block out an entire afternoon to discover all that they offer teachers!
